A story rooted in the field
Hikari was founded in 2002 by Anthony Dufour, a journalist and filmmaker who opened the agency’s first office in Japan to cover Asian news for French television. Over the years, the team grew, first in Tokyo, then in Beijing from 2003, and elsewhere around the world.
Our purpose: telling the world’s stories
Our approach is to live alongside the people and stories we cover, immersed in their world. Hikari tells stories from around the world through documentaries, reporting and a wide range of formats, for television and the web. Without borders.
Roots in northern France
Hikari is also a story of Ch’tis — people from northern France. We bring consistent rigour, respect for our clients and audiences, and a warm, open approach to the people we meet through our projects.
